Jason D. Wright, Esq. is a trial lawyer, law professor, and decorated combat veteran, and Wright Law Firm, PLLC is his legal practice. A former federal law clerk and combat military officer, he has represented clients or consulted on cases before various state courts, U.S. federal district courts and courts of appeal, U.S. military courts, the Guantánamo Bay military commissions, the International Criminal Court, the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.

Jason Wright holds a Master of Studies (M.St.), with distinction, in International Criminal Law from the University of Oxford (2010); a J.D., cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law (2004); and a B.S. from James Madison University (1998).

Jason Wright served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) from 2005 to 2014, with tours in Europe, Iraq, and Guantánamo Bay, and has served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Judge Advocate (Major) since 2014. During a fifteen-month deployment to Iraq he served as an international law advisor and aide-de-camp to a commanding general, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. His other recognitions include the National Security Law Award and the New York City Bar Association’s Trial Advocacy Award.

Jason Wright defended the former Chief Financial Officer of Dewey & LeBoeuf in a four-month securities fraud trial; served, as a Department of Defense–appointed JAG public defender, on the defense of the lead defendant in the 9/11 death penalty case before the Guantánamo Bay military commissions; has emerged as a leading litigator in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of EB-5 foreign investors challenging USCIS decisions; and has pursued international human rights matters in Europe and before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.

Yes. Jason Wright is an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown Law, where he has taught International Criminal Procedure, and a professor of practice at Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he taught in the Transnational Tribunals Clinic. He has also served as a CLE instructor in International Humanitarian Law for the American Red Cross.
